Configure swap settings from the Privy Dashboard. Navigate to Wallet Infrastructure > Wallets > Advanced to enable swaps and customize routing behavior.

1. Enable swaps

Toggle Enable token swaps to activate swap functionality for your app. Swaps are disabled by default.

2. Configure fee sponsorship

Open Fee sponsorship in the Dashboard and configure the following options:
  • Gas sponsorship (optional): Enable Sponsor gas fees to cover network fees for swaps from your app’s gas credits. Sponsorship applies per chain, so select every chain your app swaps on under Supported chains. Without sponsorship, the swapping wallet pays its own network fees and must hold a balance of the chain’s native token.
  • Swap provider fee sponsorship (optional): Enable Sponsor swap provider fees to cover swap provider fees for cross-chain swaps on all supported routes. This includes fees charged by decentralized exchanges (DEXes).
Paying network fees in ERC-20 tokens (user pays mode) is not supported for swaps. Apps configured for user pays mode can still execute swaps, but the wallet pays network fees in the chain’s native token.
Swaps on supported fixed-rate routes execute at a fixed rate without slippage. Enabling both gas sponsorship and swap provider fee sponsorship allows 1:1 swaps between supported stablecoins. Swap provider fee sponsorship does not cover slippage on other routes.
Fee sponsorship supports prepaid and postpaid billing. For prepaid accounts, ensure the credit balance is funded. Follow the fee sponsorship setup for details.
On EVM chains other than Tempo, an unsponsored swap that also needs a token approval is submitted as a batch transaction. If the wallet has not been upgraded on that chain yet, Privy upgrades it via EIP-7702 as part of the swap.

3. Select protocols

Choose which protocols are used to route swaps.

EVM chains

Choose which Uniswap protocols are used to route EVM swaps. Additional protocols and DEX aggregators are planned for future releases.

Solana

Solana swaps route through a low-latency swap aggregator. No additional protocol configuration is required for Solana.

4. Select routing strategy

Choose how swaps are optimized when multiple routes are available.
Fastest is typically appropriate for most use cases. Best price may result in longer confirmation times during periods of network congestion, but can yield better rates for larger swaps.
