# Chain support

> Supported blockchains, support tiers, and integration guides for Privy wallets

Privy wallets support multiple blockchain ecosystems across **three tiers**. Each tier builds on the one before it. The higher the tier, the more Privy manages on your app's behalf.

## Capabilities by tier

| Capability | Tier 1 | Tier 2 | Tier 3 |
| - | :-: | :-: | :-: |
| Create and export wallets | ✓ | ✓ | ✓ |
| Sign hashes and messages | ✓ | ✓ | ✓ |
| Sign transactions | — | ✓ | ✓ |
| Send transactions | — | — | ✓ |

Additional capabilities — policies, gas sponsorship, observability, wallet actions — vary independently by chain and are not part of the tier model. Some still require a minimum tier. See [Additional capabilities](#additional-capabilities).

## Supported chains

### Tier 3: Send transactions

Privy signs, broadcasts, and tracks transactions on these chains.

### Tier 2: Sign transactions

Privy decodes and signs transactions.

### Tier 1: Sign

Privy creates wallets and produces cryptographic signatures.

### Specialized integrations

Some managed integrations do not map directly to the transaction lifecycle represented by the tier model.

## Tier definitions

### Tier 3: Send transactions

* **Transaction construction** — Privy constructs supported transactions from higher-level inputs and resolves chain-dependent fields when required.
* **Managed submission** — Privy signs, broadcasts, and tracks transactions, with [transaction-status webhooks](/wallets/gas-and-asset-management/assets/transaction-event-webhooks) for lifecycle updates.

Tier 3 is the minimum threshold for anything that acts at broadcast time, such as fee payment, bundler routing, batching, and lifecycle tracking.

### Tier 2: Sign transactions

* **Transaction-aware signing** — Privy decodes and validates the transaction before signing.

Tier 2 is the minimum threshold for transaction-level policy controls, because Privy must decode a transaction before it can evaluate conditions on the transaction's contents.

### Tier 1: Sign

Privy provides these capabilities across supported chains, through the signing interface that each chain exposes.

* **Wallet creation** — generate a new keypair for a supported curve (secp256k1, Ed25519, or Starknet)
* **Private key export** — retrieve the raw private key for non-custodial use or migration
* **HD seed export** — export the seed phrase for HD-derived wallets (Ethereum, Solana, Bitcoin Taproot, and Pearl only)
* **Import** — bring an existing [private key](/wallets/wallets/import-a-wallet/private-key) or [HD seed](/wallets/wallets/import-a-wallet/hd-wallets) under Privy management, on a narrower set of chains than export
* **Low-level signing** — produce signatures appropriate to the wallet type

## Additional capabilities

A capability that depends on Privy decoding, building, or submitting a transaction is unavailable below the tier that provides it. Reaching that tier does not by itself make the capability available.

| Feature | Description | Minimum tier |
| - | - | :-: |
| Gas sponsorship, smart wallets, and batching | Chain-dependent managed transaction features. See [gas management](/wallets/gas-and-asset-management/gas/overview) and [EVM smart wallets](/wallets/using-wallets/evm-smart-wallets/overview). | Tier 3 |
| Wallet actions | Managed [transfer, swap, and earn flows](/wallets/actions/overview). Cross-chain availability depends on provider coverage and liquidity; see the dynamically maintained [supported routes](/wallets/actions/swap/overview#cross-chain-swaps). | Tier 3 |
| Transaction policies | [Controls](/controls/policies/overview) based on decoded transaction fields. Available conditions vary by chain and method. | Tier 2 |
| Balances, history, and deposit/withdrawal webhooks | [Coverage](/wallets/gas-and-asset-management/assets/overview) varies by network and event. | Varies |
| Fiat funding | [Provider-, region-, and configuration-dependent](/financial-flows/deposits). | Outside tier model |
